In my opinion

Poem Artwork

There is a hill that rises in the east

Where lives he with the mark of the beast

Truth does not pass the lips of this evil man

For every good thing, he has a dastardly plan

This nation free that has nurtured you and me

He plans to grind into the grayness of obscurity

He will have his way and who, I ask, must pay?

Men and women who work hard every day

He tries to turn us against those of other shades

For profit this ogre with enemies daily trades

He wants what he wants, and he wants it all

Proposing a shameful, wall, built thirty feet tall

Ruling by fear, absurdity abundant in his words

He tries to convince us our neighbors are wild herds

Of killers and drug lords who will slay us in our sleep

While criminals here do rob, rape and nightly creep

Drug cartels have planes, no deserts do they traverse

They come by rivers and tunnel underground and worse

They rule by killing those who refuse their ways

They destroy good people who live in fear all their days

A selfish nation we have become, with such duplicity

For they who are just people like us, there is no diversity

There is plenty here in this blessed land for each child

Open your hearts, oh, won’t you let us all be reconciled

Beautifully written and nicely disguised. But everyone can see that it is Donald Trump if they have eyes. The problem is profound when so many believe that the prejudice and bigotry they hold is right on their sleeve. So easily they forget that their own ethnic pride comes from being despised when they were on the other side. Everyone is afraid that someone will take what they've got. So they vote for a man who spouts evil rot.

Make America hate again is what this monster aims for, and he has created a cult of followers.

Marked with Beastly ways, no prisoners, no waste, less of anything that is deemed useless.
Captured him in the Net, with Such Eloquence, undeserved.
