*Inspiration for those of you dissatisfied with your job!:

Poem Artwork

I have a secret. There was a time

When work felt right.  A constant light

Made rain glow in the parking lot.  On these days,

I would see nickels from heaven. I would run

Into the parking lot and let liquid magic pour down my face,

And it would nourish my happy spirit. I really did this!

And this freedom made me content in my workplace.

After all, this workplace had given birth

to my inner glow.

So heaven continued to pour down glowing while I said, “I could stay here forever!”

I now understand glowing raindrops

Were born of my soul – not of my workplace,

this workplace which traps victims who become Time’s Fools.

But today change has come.

While I jogged 'neath hot sun it cleared away yesterday’s debris as I struggled,

Gasping for answers.

Later, under a warmed moon I biked.

This is when change revealed itself!

So I went inside,

Rediscovering my own home,

Which shelters a person whose love is constant.

You may not have seen raindrops glow for some time,

But they are waiting to shed their light

On whosoever can be reborn.

I’ve done it before and you can too:

Bring the raindrops into sight again.

See a new dawn.

And know

The glow will return

Again and again

A hymn to change? Sometimes things that seemed Right make a subtle shift... and some other Right beckons. The secret lies in knowing when to follow and when to batten down the hatches and hold fast.
