tell me what is left of interest when what you have is mere beauty a flighty possesion thriving for but a season not a thought in that pretty head outside of lipsticks and shopping trips and your blood is pumped by a vain and shallow heart
who will you turn to, my sweet when the physical blessings fade and that fickle heart strays and what once made you happy turns away, bitter and disgusted what will be your lure when you've nothing to disguise that vicious tongue and its venom and the sinful delights you reap from others' trepidations
define beauty and what it seeks for yours truly lies skin deep if it even penetrates that far below the surface tell me one more time how much yours surpasses mine I'll smile and nod just like you want me to but you know that deep inside you're ugly in a way I'll never be
I love the way this says it all, vanity is a curse that never fails to amaze me for as the poem suggests...beauty on the exterior is fleeting beauty on the inside is timeless.

Well, that certainly leaves nothing unsaid or unfelt..
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
