The earth is warming and changes in the climate will continue to get worse until, worldwide, there is the political will to turn off the carbon generating burning of all the reserves of coal, petroleum and gas we have left.

John's dismay about giving is the result of government looking the other way in favor of their wealthy donors and leaving the rest of us to pay the piper through charity… Unfortunately, less able to have money set aside for this purpose when we are sliding into poverty ourselves.

But you have brought to attention with your poem on Christmas day. We are here reading and understanding. May yours and million other poems turn the tide and save the coral reefs.

A Terrific poem, Suzie. Yes, many are still suffering after so many natural disasters. We have folks still going to the Bahamas to help rebuild homes and peoples lives from that disaster. People in our surrounding community are suffering this Christmas. With all the abundance around us we must ask, "Why?" It seems less than 20 percent give to help the least of these. Somehow, someway, there must be another way.
