Lost inside the blanket of a Northern summer day
Driving down the old grade road back to Emily
The trees, and fields and houses, the red clay and the sky
Each with their own memory, frozen deep in time
Blue sky - Open up and let me run
Over the golden plains
through the forests green
Blue water - Hold me in your womb
Wash my soul with sunlight
Let me feel the flame
Many miles I have traveled And many times I've felt alone
reaching for the beauty as this life unfolds
Now my heart is beating faster as each hour passes by
Chains that held me, broken, as to the past I fly
Blue sky - Carry me back home
Across the fields of emptiness
above this endless void
Blue water - Tears of crying rain
Cover me with wildflowers
Set me free again
