The fight to re-gain normality after a physically traumatic experience
I've been pacing 'round this room so much,
I see my footprints in the floor.
I keep staring out the windows, but I don't see what I'm looking for.
Just give me some excitement, just enough to keep me sane,
cause I believe I'm overdue for another costume change.
Pressure changes rythym
when a task becomes routine
Waking up while falling in, like walking backward in your sleep.
Right now, I need adventure just to keep my cool,
from dangerous to kinky almost anything will do.
You can't play the part until you've lived it,
you can't live until you die,
the actors and the preachers disagree.
If there's a way to live the part
and still walk out alive,
there's no nightmares, only dreams.
It's time now for excitement,
something that I crave,
'cause I believe that I'm overdue
for another costume change.
This is a very interesting concept to me--the idea of being presented with new scripts and costume changes to go along with them over a lifetime. I like it!
I feel for you in this, though it was childbirth that put ME there. But it was this line that made me laugh out loud, "I need adventure just to keep my cool,
from dangerous to kinky almost anything will do". I work in production and although it is nothing like a lengthy, physical heal, the monotony can leave me looking for ANYTHING to keep myself awake.

Glad you healed through...
