A reflective little ditty about where you've been, what you've got, and what it takes to build toward tomorrow.

An old broken rusty saw
sits on the woodpile overgrown
chipped paint and broken windows
the door is open no one's home

The wind is rustling through the trees
with a gentle hint of summer breeze

and its gonna take some time to bring it back
its gonna take some love to bring it back
Yeah its gonna take some work to bring me back
from where I've been

The sun mirrors off the water
casting rays onto the shore
that catch my eyes and take my mind
to a place that's calm and warm

I can hear the laughter  far away
that echoes from another day

but its gonna take some work to bring it back
its gonna take some time to bring it back
Yeah its gonna take some love to bring me back
from where I've been

...from where I've been

Hello Edwin
How sad to allow someone to get to far away when love is so easy to hold them together

Stirring and emotional. From anger to the tendency to nurture. . . .

Great lyrics and I can almost hear the melody, definately six string and smoky blues.

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
