The words of a king - the words of a fool
each uses words as a delivery tool
the king - in deep tenors alight with bass tones
the fool - with light banter - to shudders and moans
To his lot, the king muses and each in turn nods
for the fool, they sigh deeply - heads to their gods
the king receives praises and bolsters and cheers
and the fool - for him mockery, silence or jeers
Words; be them whimsy or edict or truth
self effacing, witty - all spoken forsooth
sing-song or stolid, grave or up-beat
all purposed to teach, enighten, entreat
From the fool, the nothing - words of no worth?
and the king, from he - divinity birthed?
mayhap the messages mirror each other
the king - the fool - a literary brother
'Tis content, alas that lives in the end
the heart of each new syllable penned
judge the king and the fool on common terms
for only then can the lesson be learned
