The smile waiveres

then fades

She had pushed a button in him

that erased hope

"From whence came love.

now grows avidity"

he shuffles

So, it begins to relent

just so

leaking softly at first

like a pipe sweating away condensation

Then, more rapidly

faucet-like when the washer has rotted to debris

"My, how it quickens"

he thinks aloud

and grates

"I am loathe to enter the drawers"

he says to no-one and everyone

"What must I do when possibility is no longer endless?"

He begins to ascend

Always so disheartening when the feeling of hopelessness encompasses. You bring it all to life...

Be always safe,
Karen

Beside Still Waters by Jill Eisnaugle

Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
