My Lover
Wretched am I
My life from high empyrean has fell
to Hades sent, and here, for now, to dwell.
In solitude, lost and broken
haunted by the memories of collusion
with the princess of the mountain coast,
Who captured my heart in the mists’
of the Orme like a bewitching ghost.
Her enchanting eyes
hid the Lilith with lustful thighs
and chameleon tongue that engulfed a host.
We danced a dance of love looking into
one another’s’ soul as our hearts entwined
we lost ourselves and left the world behind.
But the Fate’s decreed it not to last
once the shadows distant were cast.
Dark clouds gathered and rained down a sorrow
upon a passion nurtured in loves sweet garden.
The deluge destroyed what grew
in a flood
of jealousy and greed and superficial need.
Flowerbeds overgrown with an intrusive weed,
strangling the life from the flowery heads.
Black mournful eyes
shed sliver tears far to many times
To count…
Now…
the smell that pervades your absence
Is one of dust,
not of flowers or the nectar of passion
not even lust.
Just a cold dank musk.
So from situations that was hard to defend
that led to a sad and tragic end.
You inspire me to a new confidence,
to make amend and balance desire and need
with the love
on which our souls feed
my lover, my friend.
