Your rhymes are rarely
phonetic
but rather you match
images with meanings and golden-hued possibilities.I want a life just like that,
where the outside skin of everything
is as sweet and sticky as inside.Your meter refuses
to restrain itself
runs wild like a herd of psychedelic be-bops
setting fire between the knees
of an otherwise cool Saturday night.I want to love that way.
Creating a new color for each sky
believing itself a blue limitation.And your voice (Ahhh that thundering
planet of a voice) your voice
like a magician repairing
shattered imaginations
like a physician unpuzzling the magic
of the absence of love in his touch.That’s how I want to be reborn:
thoroughly reeking with liberation’s blood
and glittery with the flames of all naked joy.
