Henry with family, sheltered, rode out the eye of Charley Hurricane
Catagory 4 August 13, 2004 Charlotte County, Florida, USA
After notes. 08/31/2005. Tears was written on Sunday night before Katrina made landfall. The poem was prompted by the pain I felt knowing from my experience in the eye of Charley what was going to happen. The windspeed indicator at the airport one mile from my shelter broke last year at 172 miles per hour.
What I didn't know was the flooding that would overtake New Orleans because I was only familar with wind damage and heavy rain. My heart aches because apparently hundreds of thousand people will find that nothing is "left of what they had besides tears, tears." s/henry
Henry, I feel your pain, as a fellow Floridian. There is nothing scarier than having Mother Nature's dial pointed in your direction and the result is a storm that can wipe out everything you hold dear. May God bless past victims as they continue to heal, and those victims in Katrina's path today...beautiful poem. Michelle
Sad but, Wonderfully written my friend---I can feel -K- plight- and yours too sadly to mention, on that terrible earth shattering day :( < <tears>> WArmly and Sweetly,Sheee

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Good God, the emotion and terror you pack into your words! A compassionate, devastating write.
I can't imagine going through what those poor people did...God bless the survivors and their families.
