Carrying other people's problems can be just as heavy as carrying your own.

On the side of holding it in street

She cuts down a side street
sweating and out of breath.
Physically she felt weighed down
but she was only carrying a cold bottle of water.

She mentally sifter through her baggage.
There was nothing heavy inside not anything that would cause this heaviness.

She dug deeper with a vengeance.

Well Now Shoot The Devil!

There she found other peoples problems individually wrapped in pretty paper and stamped with don't tell, and a few negative things they said about her deep inside.

She had buried them deeper than she did her own.

So she pulled and laid each one out on the sidewalk.
The order didn't matter.
She left all of it where it was suppose to be on the side of holding it in street.
cause she wasn't carrying it anymore

And she walked down it's All About Me street and she drank that cold bottle of water, yes she did!

What a powerful, inspiring write, Letitia! I know so many people who walk down that street everyday! Its such a tiring, depressing walk! It can wear one down like a tonne of bricks! I suppose its just natural for the compassionate soul - tends to make the next person's problems her own. Great write, Letitia!

God bless,

Sandie.

We can help someone's problems, but we don't make it our own burden.

Wonderful write!

i believe there is a message here...if not for someone specific, we can all learn from it. help a friend, of course, but dont' let their problems bring you down

We can only help the souls who want to be helped and even then, it is a struggle. Those, however, who seek not to change are just that, unchangeable. It is all in the mindset and as friends of those who don't see or sense a problem, it is difficult to find a balance between enabling an already manifesting problem and letting go for the sake of our own sanity. Great write, Letitia.

All right Letitia powerful and so true write, far too often we let other peoples problems bring us down so far that we not only cant help them but can't even help ourselves. Well said.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
