The Hand That Rocks the Cradle
Tickled
Ivories little
Hands gifted
Piano keys in tune
The one who thought he was
Ebenezer was not
She was born
With two baby teeth
She laughed at the snow
Flocking on the Christmas
Wreath
There was
No bow or ribbon
Or wrapped Christmas
Package from mama and dada
Under the tree
The Gift was
Placed in another
Extreme a distance
So far from resembling
A family celebration
No the hand that rocks the
Cradle is Aesop's Fable
The Secret sings a lullabye
Mozart watched over her
Like a composer
The moral when there
Is fakeness the gift
Is void
The hand that rocks
The cradle is a secret
Locked so tight and stored
In the trunk

Coincidentally, in anger when I asked for her to use her mobile phone to find out why our power was out this morning, she flared up at me and told me it was because in exchange for the little things she did for me like that I stopped giving her a Christmas gift of $50.
I stopped giving Christmas gifts and getting gifts from my family over 30 years ago. But I gave Christmas gifts of cash cards for those I supervised at work, my employees, and my tenant. It was my primary caregiver told me to stop giving my tenant a Christmas present.
Why do women bring up old issues over such trivial things as money for Christmas?
