A poem written on Mothers Day when
I found out my daughter was expecting

Poem Artwork

To Rachel, From Mom

My Own First Child

As you embark on this first stage of motherhood, my child
There値l be times that are calm and times that are wild.
As you prepare everything for your bundle of joy
Picking out baby beds, layettes, and that perfect toy,
I know there値l be times of anxiety and fear,
Wondering just what痴 going to happen in this coming year.
Just remember I知 here wanting to help if you値l let me
All you have to do is call or just come and get me.
You may just need a kind word or a gentle hug,
When worries about motherhood give your heart a tug,
But as you fill the cradle with your own Rachel or Morris,
And we all await the child you have for us,
When you want me, remember, I値l never hide
From my first child who has filled me with pride.
I know you値l be great as this little one痴 mother
For a nurturing parent, I can think of no other.
So just follow your heart and you値l find the source
Of each need to be filled on this wonderful course.
I know you値l do well and make us so proud,
I値l want to go jumping and shouting out loud,
典hat痴 my daughter, you know, and I love her so much.
She takes all the right measures and has that special touch.
You池e baby is gonna be the luckiest one
Whether a daughter or whether a son,
To be able to look up and see such peace and calm,
In the eyes of the woman, whom he or she will call Mom.

I love you,
Mom
