We can keep on dreaming of the good life in every season. Dreams make reality come to light.

Poem Artwork

Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall

We don’t have to leave our home right now

We can dream big,

we can dream all night long, and see them all

WINTERTIME DREAMS

Winter in my dreams is powder white snow in Colorado

Hopping a ride on a ski lift; ski’s just dangling in the sky

Hopping off and its already time to head back down

First, I start off just like a pro

Then drift off to the side of a hill

My skis fling back up in the air

Suddenly, I am knee deep in white powder

Then I get up, only to plop back down

As I am deeply planted in the snow

Horizontally happily, planted in the ground

SPRING DREAMS

Spring in my dreams is a picnic in the park

We’re deep in the woods in Washington State

We brought along some of our favorite treats

We find a bench by a lake and unload our packs

Now we just enjoy the birds chirping,

watch the flowers growing

we feel the cool breeze,

watch the gentle movement of the swaying trees

Later on, we’ll go bike riding, kayaking, or just do as we please…

SUMMER DREAMING

Summer in my dreams is hanging out on a quiet beach

Not staying too long cause don't want to burn

I used to bake for hours in the sand

but those days have passed on

Take a ride on a boat,

 watch the wake,

don't go to fast

This is summer

in my mind,

take it slow,

make it last...

DREAMING OF FALL

The Fall comes when things cool down

The leaves are changing from green to gold

We could be in North Carolina

Aspen, Colorado

or Central Park in New York. City

It does not matter,

from afar, the leaves look so darn pretty.

The dogwoods in Aspen are a favorite

They look like silver sardines hanging in the trees

as they shimmer and shake in the wind.

It’s a mystery how these trees came about

Perhaps it all started from a creative dream

Now we live in sunny Florida,

but to never see the Fall again,

would be a shame,

then again…

we can always dream, can’t we?

Yes, we can!

Dream on!

Amen! Amen!

PS: Thank you for dreaming along

We can keep on dreaming,

even if it's just for a season!

John, you made all of the seasons, even old man winter, attractive; it is hard to tell which season is your favorite, but I believe it is summer because you want to make it last! Which ever season is your favorite, you have done an excellent job of describing all of them.
Thank you for sharing, and continued success.

Your dreams are reminisces of a well-traveled life. I enjoyed and commiserated with each one from my own memories. For example, that time either at Labor Day or after, when my parents invited me and my girlfriend to go to Minocqua to watch the last waterski show of the season. It was cool in the bleachers so I was glad to have my jacket on. But the water was probably still warm and the performers were great. One of those once-in-a-lifetime experiences that poems like yours bring back to life.

Every season is special in its own way. It's up to us to do the dreaming.

Thank you for taking me along in this dream. Yes, there are many ways to escape, and dreaming is probably the most underrated. It can take us anywhere to anytime. All we have to do is open ourselves to it.
