Heart and Mind

Do you have a constant battle

Between your heart and mind?

The noise a constant rattle

With answers hard to find ?

Your minds a great deceiver

And argues with your heart

Can convince any believer

That they and God are apart.

You see your mind is very shallow

Changing with each moment

Your spirit will seldom follow

Others leading you to torment.

Ah your mind’s a happy joker

Convincing you it’s fun

That life’s a game of poker

Just some aimless run.

Your mind steers your body

While your heart directs your soul

Balancing both together

Is a challenge as you know.

Remember prayers the answer

As you rattle on your way.

Forget that old deceiver.

Let your heart lead His way.
