The weight of the wind,
It lies upon me.
Emotions unseen, lingering
Like delicately spun spider webs in the catacombs,
Trembling.
It lies below, always below,
Darker than any night sky, so heavy,
Suffocating…black.

To pull myself up, to part the earth,
To see the wings opening before me,
The Angel’s empty solid stare
Pinning me, trapping me,
Sending the tempest to blow, oh,
To blow so hollow through me -
I do arise…I do meet that gaze
And stare back

Only to see…to know…to feel
The coldness growing between us,
The connection severed,
A bleeding limb dangling, dancing,
Slapping in rhythm,
Pounding the stone -
A dead, drifting thing pummeled by the wind.
