The bells…I hear them…ringing,
Ringing…On my knees, head bowed,
Razor stone pressing, marking my spirit
As I rise and linger,
Floating, nebulous fingers barely stroking,
Touching the Rose window,
And I rise, up into the tower,
Into the sound, the ringing, ringing
Of the Bells…
This is the essence of the prayer,
The connection I seek to the holiest,
To the universe, enclosed, encapsulated
In the rhythm, the departed -
Births and funerals,
Heads bowed, knees raw,
Voices - they whisper - and the bells
Wake me in joy, in sorrow,
Circular vision, O Ouroboros,
The skirt and the tune!
Let me touch you,
Let me move within you,
I want to swallow your song and move
Into the pattern, the momentary release
Of the Bells…
I hear them…ringing…ringing,
Ringing…creating the Heavens,
Devouring the Earth…
