Is this life or is it merely living?

Today, all is static, all remains the same, busy but pointless

It’s funny really, the things one thinks of!
A day at the beach with sand between your toes
A night in summer hearing June bugs buzzin
A humid afternoon in my older years, when I wonder
Is this it? Is this all? Is there more to come?
A face that will be forever etched in my heart
And, other faces that have come and gone.
Its their shadow that is a dim smudge upon this life,
remembrances good and bad.
A war fought without the blood and guts yet,
The pain is real.
Today I thought what if? A dangerous way to think,
one that leads to more questions and less answers.
Today, all is static, all remains the same, busy but
pointless, without purpose, yet it is what they expect!
Some days I get tired, well, if the truth were to be told
I am always tired. Tired of the relentless, mundane, train
That is reality, yeah reality!! The youngun’s come and go,
The days fly one after another, yet all feels the same
All is without fun, all is without purpose. It is only
Living till all is gone away.

Once again Sandi, you have put some of the deepest human experiences into very memorable words. You have a very special gift, and I do so treasure your way of speaking.

Keep on blessing us all with your gift, and may God be with you. ~Z

These are your moments lost in disparity. Looking and waiting for something to change or look different in the twilight of your life. Everything has it's place and so do these moments. Your words allowed me to feel everything that has taken a lifetime to empty out.

Interesting concept and write. When life seems meaningless and mundane it is up to us to spice it up, change it, re-arrange it. When life seems full of joy, happiness and meaning, it is time to sit back and just plain old enjoy it.....

Be always safe,
Karen

So many people writing on the den today about doubts, sadness, is life worth living, must be a wave of thinking that puts us in this situation. Tired is to be fought and going about doing something perks us up. Try it. Everyone seems so down today, and I just wonder why. Is it the world Economy, the weather, or what? Wish I had answers to that too. Get in touch with your maker might help us too.

An age-old question, "Is this life or is it merely living?" We've all left footprints upon this sand, and so are the days of our lives soap opera sandglass. It's time like this when we question life's real purpose and our own purpose...turns and twists of new roads ahead, Sandi...hotsprings located to melt down the boredom and monotony - time for some naked companionship of just you and your mind to bare your soul and refresh your spirit in the moonlight into forests of tall, straight pine trees that reach as high as you can go...

Love,
Sage
