Today is a powerful tool for change
It wields the strength to influence
Our tomorrows
Or so we are led to believe!
So why does unexpected stuff happen?
Were we led to believe wrong?
We were, actually, we cannot influence much at all.
except our own responses.
Instead we must choose our notions
Of what is important, regardless our
Ability to change anything!
We choose what is important to us,
Regardless, we really have no power in it.
I choose to believe in hope, love, family and chocolate
In God I trust, in government I suspect,
in man I watch and wait.
In hope, love, and chocolate, and my family
I have unfailing belief
Yet it occasionally fails me even then, but,
Family and love always rallies to the needs of its members,
chocolate always tastes great, and
Hope is always my companion.
To me that is the strength,
And if I am lucky and persist
Perhaps, just perhaps, I may influence the future.
