It’s strange that life can change so fast,
one moment filled with life the next
trying to survive.
We live one cm. from certain death
that’s all it is they say,
yet now the reality hits so hard.
The C word that fills with dread
It sends a chill to all who hear
and this time it stopped with me.
A tiny spot, pea size, they say
a potential to take a life
and words like invasive and carcinoma
are whispered in fear.
Doctors become a lifeline to
the future, clung to with
some amount of desperation.
Hope, is so important now
and prayer, and the support
of loved ones, thankfully,
I have that.
I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma one and half weeks ago in my right breast. I will undergo a lumpectomy and sentinel node check on the 8th of May, if no metastasis then 6 weeks of Radiation will follow, if metastasis is there, Chemo will also be done.
