SPECIAL SUNSHINE
She weighed in early,
just three pounds, life
rays flickering, heart-
beat weak... and, family
hovering, past the time,
she didn't speak, nor
even balance upright.
But cryptic light from
sky blue eyes illuminated
the whole house, while
tender rosebud kisses
doused our worldly fears.
The doctors didn't know
-- nor did we know that
special souls don't need
to walk, or talk, to teach.
Special love sent below
finds hidden hurt which
fleet feet never reach.
Too soon God called His
angel home to glory--
only three short years
sufficed that heavenly
mission to complete.
How bittersweet the
learning ... How long
the years of living
with the memory.

Few poets have the talent to write so beautifully about such a delicate subject. The child of which you write completed her mission in three short years. I know first hand how tiny those graves are and how long the years of living with the memories are. Thank you for your talent.
