These are things folks say about me.
They just don’t know, that she flows through me.
She bore me, bleed me, broke me down and
sealed my soul.
Gave me her life, so I can grow.
Powerful, well-traveled and well-versed.
They have no idea, that my Momma is the one
who’s the one who’s transversed...
Flows through me like the River Jordan.
Her soul’s smooth like butter dripping on
hot steamy cornbread.
Momma is the one who’s given me the reason
to be a woman in every season.
Always taught me to be a lady.
And to work hard so I can achieve all I want in
life.
They just don’t know, how much she flows through me,
but I do and that’s all that matters.
