Grief
Death’s sudden unspoken grief,
Absence of a spirit brief,
Accept not a sorrow’s thief.
Torturous memories found,
In the silence not a sound,
Unspoken pain holds you bound.
Silent echoes of the heart,
Disabling burdens sharp,
Quiet strains of an angel’s harp.
Midnight shadow’s dancing light,
Weaving ropes round chest so tight.
Tears spilling through the night.
Dark dreams of the mind,
Intense, overwhelming, seek to find,
A way in which your soul to bind.
I note it's been one year since your tragic loss. In your mind and heart, you know the pains, even as with passage of time the sharpness of the grief remains.
Once again, I am reminded of the words of the great Kahlil Gibran in his 1923 classic, The Prophet:
"And ever has it been that love knows not
its own depth until the hour of separation."
It is a truth I wish were not so.
May the love of all who cherish your work comfort you.

I have been in that place where you have been, having lost both my father and mother..
It is like being caught between a rock and a hard place, is the only way I can describe it...
I learned to compartmentalize that unbearable pain and grief, so that I could cope with the present and future...you have too !!

I find the book , The Four Agreements offers some terrific advice on getting your life in order
The Four Agreements - Don Miguel Ruiz's code for life
Agreement 1
Be impeccable with your word - Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
Agreement 2
Don’t take anything personally - Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
Agreement 3
Don’t make assumptions - Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
Agreement 4
Always do your best - Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
