Hands clawing for freedom
Screaming for forgiveness
Begging for release
The surface ripples above unseen fingertips
Stumbling over vines engulfing the floor
Scraping bare flesh
Winding fibrous threads around weary limbs
Struggling to escape
Fighting for air
Wrapped in a cocoon of helpless desperation
Needing redemption
Praying for salvation
Dragged into a blinding darkness
Eyes screaming for sight
A broken heart longing for peace
Left with naught but hands breaking through the surface
Ripping out what remains of humanity
A whisper silences the screams
Redemption and salvation demand a costly toll
Penances shall be paid by the immortal soul
