Last year it hurt
to hear the birds sing;
and to see the first flowers
that marked the coming of Spring;
To taste something new
my mother would have liked,
to see a sunset,
or a full moon at night.
This year it doesn't
hurt quite so bad,
and I feel so grateful
for the year that I had.
Through good times and bad times
the love that we shared
has colored my world
and helped to prepare
for telling our story--
The gift that she gave.
I'll remember my mother
through all of my days.
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
