Leading the eye on a merry chase
Sculpting with power artfully free
Until the day it joins with the sea;

A rock, on the other hand, sits in one place
A stoic monument to strength and grace
Yet inevitably elements grind it to sand
So thus it becomes part of the land;

Even conflicted, the two co-exist
Through moods and seasons they cannot resist
Changes occurring are painfully hard
The way so uncertain, the end so far...

The view obscurred, prospects seem bleak
Strength becomes wearisome, powers weak
Though fads and ages have come and gone Still the story continues on and on

Time seeming to pass with hardly a trace
Yet we all leave a mark in its destined place;
