Having just realized that I have been terribly remiss in commenting on this lovely Tanka, I must add in my two cents now. I know I have read this piece in the past and revisiting it now brings to me a sense of peace, like the passing of a storm at sea, it is a respite for the weary sailor -a refuge from the trials and turbulence of everyday life. I always return to your poetry for inspiration and comfort. I'm glad I stopped by here today to receive this blessing. Thank you dear Taylor for this precious gift.

This is a beautiful and peaceful write...so much is said with only a few words. I love to garden and often times compare life to that of the harvest. For instance when I weeded the early sprouts of our garden this year...I began to think of how the weeds if left unattended would slowly smother out the vegetables and wouldn't allow them to bare and bring forth their fruit, just as our own lives, if we do not take the time to cleanse the soul and heart through prayer we do not bare good fruit either. Wonderful write, I enjoyed this very much.

Dramatic and satisfying Taylor.

Tanka is not an easy structure to create within. An accomplishment worthy of light.

And so, in the words of the gardener: "Let us rejoice in the fruits of our labors, let us relish those that appreciate and understand, and let us never run out of the manure that keeps those fruits from flourishing."
