"Listen to the briskly whistling winter evergreen
Whispering through the frozen morning light
And tell me whats to come..."

First Snow

Did the sky hold a variant hue

charged by night’s soft- haloed moon

slowly blending to indigo blue over sunrise-fuscias

the crispness of the winter dawn

imbued with the resonance of his morning song

echoing in a marbled shower chorus

with sudsy clouds of shampoo…

a hint of fresh and clean

born anew in the afterglow of midnight past

another memory glistening

steam mellowed

Was it the wafting essence of Carolina evergreen

or sinfully rich, calescent Belgian cocoa…

peppermint stick infused

sweet upon lips sipping from warmed Imari mug

to my morning tousled sheets delivered

complimenting steam… with steamy

and succor of  your satisfied smile

while the mist of nature’s crystalline

danced outside fogged window tracings

in  December’s morning air

that took me there... again…again

to that place

that world

of you and me…

Taylor,

Being from Ohio, I miss the first snow. In Texas, we're lucky if we get a dusting! LOL Beautiful imagery sets the stage for a scene to remember. Well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Wow, your ability to write poetry in beautiful harp like notes is well etched. The lyrics made me feel as though, for a brief second, I was in heaven. One needs that every once and a while in this life. Good choice for a picture as well. Very appropriate.

Well, where to start?...I could see, hear, touch, taste and smell this quintessential blend of mood, passion and emotion. 'Another memory glistening' indeed and how well it is all complemented by that imagery ...Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! I really savoured this one Taylor. Much applause. Love Panda :)

This one is truly exquisite. Pure and old fashioned poetry... at it best.
It is so capturing I want to hold on for all I'm worth.
A rare and delicious venture into a realm seldom visited.
In true awe - Bill

Delightful contrasts of the sharp and frosty with the warm and fuzzy :)) You etch some beautiful images here with your crysalline verse, Taylor. A glass slipper of a write, seeming to centre (for me!) on the two sides of a winter pane of window glass: icy and web-like on the outside and warm and breathy on the inside.. if you get my drift! :)) Totally Narnian and warms me right down to my toes!
