Dream Bars
Every Christmas, it’s what I do,
Make cookies to ship and deliver,
To my family and friends far away and near,
Family recipes and some of my own as well.
The address where she used to live,
Some twenty so years ago,
Was scribbled on the back,
Of a Christmas cookie recipe I made today.
Her favorites are the “Dream Bars”,
Made by our grandmother in our childhood,
I will send some to her husband this year,
And he will place them on her grave.
