MY BROTHER

BY ALICE DONATELLI

I ALWAYS WANTED A BROTHER,
TO TELL MY TROUBLES TO,
A VERY SPECIAL BROTHER,
A BROTHER TRIED AND TRUE.

I ALWAYS WANTED A BROTHER,
TO TAKE MOST ANYWHERE,
MAYBE TO THE MOVIES,
OR TO THE COUNTY FAIR.

I ALWAYS WANTD A BROTHER,
TO HUG AND KISS GOODNIGHT,
A SPECIAL BABY BROTHER,
TO WATCH HIM GROW UP RIGHT.

BUT MY BABY BROTHER ,
WAS TAKEN FROM ME,
SOMEWHERE TO PARTS UNKNOWN,
IT LEFT ME BROKEN HEARTED,
BECAUSE NOW I WAS ALONE.

I SWORE SOMEDAY I WOULD FIND HIM,
BUT WHERE WAS I TO LOOK,
I NEEDED TO FIND MY BROTHER,
TO CLOSE THE FAMILY BOOK.

I PRAYED TO GOD MOST EVERY NIGHT,
TO ANSWER ONE SPECIAL PRAYER,
THAT WHEN I WOKE UP SOME MORNING,
HE'D BE STANDING THERE.

I THOUGHT MY SEARCH WAS OVER,
I FELT WEAKER EVERY DAY,
UNTIL THAT FAITHFUL EVENING,
THIS IS YOUR BROTHER,
I HEARD HIM SAY.

NOW MY SEARCH IS OVER,
I FOUND WHAT I ONCE LOVED,
AND NO ONE CAN TAKE HIM FROM ME,
EXCEPT THE LORD ABOVE.

My sister Alice this is a phenomenal statement of faith and hope! Your testimony and love for your brother lived in your heart all of those 62 years. And since your faith was tried and tested God brought your brother home! I am so proud of you and the poem is very inspiring. I tell people all the time God can do anything but fail! May peace never cease!!!

What a joy that you found such a loving part of you. This reminds of the Jesus and the lamb. Even though you had a large beautiful family, something, someone was missing. You did exactly what he did, you went in search of it. No wonder you found him, God was on your side. Beautiful story, Love, Bonnie

Oh my dear, I know just how you feel as my brother found me about a year ago after we were separated upwards of forty years. You are so right, never give up and now to enjoy each others company....

Be always safe,
Karen

Beautiful, Alice! Congratulations!! Well done.

Only thing I might suggest is not using all capitals. It seems, on the Internet, when people do, they're shouting. But then again, you might be shouting with happiness! :) I would. LOL

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
