Poem Artwork

Why, you may say

It had to come - someday

Time has taken it’s toil

On this tired old vagabond soul.

Ain’t it a shame

The older I get

The more intense the pain

This disease has set in

That make my thoughts no longer my friend.

Ready to paint my white war horse

Gallop into the sacred Holy Land

Hold up by the Jordan's edge

Be led through the raging flood

Travel across the universe

Where ever my Master’s voice is being heard

Remembering the promises in His Word.

And be astonished

In awe of the power and love

Coming Vengeance and true friendship

Regal Royalty yet grafted kinship.

Wash me through the waters

Refresh my brain

Let it rain

Do it, over and over again

Make this madman sane.

For time has taken it’s toil

On this tired old vagabond soul

Saddled and gazing

My eyes horizontal hazing

Patiently waiting

Anticipating

To say ‘Getty up’

Nudge my spurs in her sides

And commence with the next part of the ride.

No sad farewells

As Dale said to Roy. . . . .

“Happy Trails”

Lovely picture surely did catch my eye. This poem reads so tenderly and speeds along while reading and says lots. I did not know if i wanted to read it due to the title? I had not heard that word before but curiosity killed the cat, me and it is a discernable write with a good message for all. Supreme in fact, I loved it**********

...fine writing to saddle the soul...you take us with your poetry...across plains we travel...upon words like sunsets...we must also ride...following in friendship...again to meet...upon the wonderful pages you have given us.
with respect for your found pen friendship...and wishes for your return...
my best wishes with you always Douglas...

Douglas it is we who must thank you for your splendid poetry which we have had the pleasure to read and be toudched by! I know you will return for you have many things yet to say,and I'm sure you will regain the ability to do so. You are in my thoughts and prayers, and i hope and pray to see more poems in the future. This one is superb, even though it is also a tale of woe,it uplifts the spirit.May the "next part of the ride" surprise you with joy,
and return you to us soon!

Love and blessings to you ,my friend,
Eileen

Blazing the trail, riding off into the sunset with a smile of a life well lived, yet there is still so much living to do, wonderful sentiments...

Be always safe,
Karen
