He came into my life
With perfect pink skin
I was groggy
When we first met
But one thing
Was clear, I adored him
I watched his every move
He was my entire world
We were pals for several years
Then kids came into view
He was off and running around
His world expanded and I knew
That he was ready and willing
For new experiences to brew
And ever since that time
The challenges have never stopped
But Ben has taken them on
Like a champ on the clock
Wrestling with his struggles
He knocks them down one by one
I know a lot about him
He is my firstborn son
And now the next generation
Is watching him like me
They are his lovely daughters
Who also see
The champ he is in life
Larger than life…is he
Oh, I'm sure he's like a champ on the clock, but I'd wager to say he's a chip off the old block!
