Back in the Middle Ages, when the knaves began to hassle,

The nobility solved the problem with a moat around the castle.

And now the best political thinkers that public money can buy,

Will attempt to plug our leaking border by effecting a similar try.

Ah yes, these bureaucrats that we employ to think for us,

Have come upon a noble remedy, on its face ridiculous.

They have this marvelous idea, a fence that is 100 miles long,

And it will only cost a billion dollars. A governmental song!

Just as the water barrier was solved by novel knavel thought,

(A bridge was thrown across the moat and instant access wrought).

So, too, this border closure from people of hope bereft

Won’t work. They will travel 101 miles east, then simply hang a left.

The reason people come here is that they simply have no future,

We cannot sole this border wound with such a trivial suture.

A financial solution is needed, not building such a fence.

Mexico needs a stable future. Politicians are so dense.

The issue is not these aliens, that has us so annoyed,

But that just south of us exists an economic void.

Mexico is in financial straits. They owe us money they can’t pay,

Causing bankers here to worry. Therein, WE should have a say.

‘Cause if our banks go under, a result of loan payment lapse,

Our financial house of cards may groan, and ultimately collapse.

Then it won’t be just one fence to berate as silly suggestion,

We’ll all be digging ditches, as occurred in the Depression.
