Bliss

He places his hands on her shoulders
She turns, wraps her arms around his neck
Hands at her waist, he pulls her close

The meat loaf resembled a black brick
Potatoes looked about the same
Salad warm and limp

Peanut butter never tasted as good
As it did eaten cuddled up
In love’s lingering afterglow

"Bliss" is also on my short list of valued psychological properties. The meatloaf, potatoes and salad are not included on any list of essential values even on my longest list. A sated appetite offers no more than immediate gratification. No sense of importance other than starvation abatement.
