My friend recently babysat her pastor's rabbit while he and his family were away on vacation. She told me that she was keeping a journal of Spike's activities, so the pastor's children could read it when they returned. I thought that was hysterical--after all, what does a rabbit really do?? So, I thought I'd give her a piece to add to the journal.
Oh Spike, my friend
You’re the best that I've known…
Better than good
In a class all your own!
And since you'll have journal
I thought I'd add verse,
Just to complete
Your literary purse!
Now should you opt
To learn how to read,
Just drop me a line
I'd be interested indeed
To know what you thought
Of this here ole' ode,
And probably so shocked
I'd pass right out cold!
