Seldom do we ever meet a stranger
Who stirs immediate joy in our heart
Who speaks words so lovely and sweet
That they sound like poetic art.

Yet, I met such a lovely person
Via AuthorsDen some while back
His name is Richard Lee Orey
A man of talent and gracious tact.

Richard read When Justice is Served
My book I worked so hard to write
He complimented me with a wonderful review
Which is posted on my AuthorsDen site.

I know many of you know Richard,
Writer, caregiver, family man, and friend
A man who grows beautiful roses
And shares their pictures on AuthorsDen.

He loves canoeing while soft breezes
Whisper across the calm of a peaceful lake
Where he drives his Volkswagen to, with canoe on top,
Looking forward to a leisurely day he plans to take.

His life is also filled with work
Paradise of Revenge is the book he wrote
A story with a message strong with suspense
A story he plotted while meditating on his boat.

Now, I learn he loves music, too
The ukulele is his instrument of choice
Until lately, he found a banjolele
That invites sweet music from his fingers and voice.

Richard is a busy man for sure
With many interests to enliven his fulfilling days
He keeps complementing his life with new goals and dreams
With a chorus of activities to keep him young, he says.

Ahhh, Richard, I’ve enjoyed our talks
Your wonderful reviews on my poetic posts
I’ve felt special joy and pleasure as you’ve served
As my friend and cross-country host.

My blessings to you, my friend
On goals you have that are yet to do
On marvelous things you'll one day accomplish
Through a heart that stays pure and true
to God and family.
