The morning sheds its blue light About the house through window panes Leading the way for bright sunlight With sunbeams and dollops of yellow stain.
Ahhh, how sweet the morn of another day How joyous are the sounds outside A noisy dog barking in the distance Vehicles moving like a flowing tide.
The old cat meows and purrs awake Stretching its back up high Sniffing for breakfast that awaits him Ambles to its dish meowing a lazy sigh.
The children stumble from their beds Slow to wake, and slower even still When mama tells them to hurry and dress To come to breakfast and enjoy their fill.
Daddy downs his last cup of coffee Kisses mama on the cheek Says goodbye as he rushes out the door A busy Monday to start his week.
Kids grab their lunches and book bags Go racing outside to meet the bus Mom sighs peacefully and cleans up the kitchen Morning settling down from a lingering rush.

This is a bright sunshiney poem and cheered me up this afternoon. Loved what you had to say in this one and the way you presented it. Of course, I am partial to yellow, so it really caught my eye.
You wrote the scene well, Jeanette. A peep-hole view of family going through its morning routine, oh! how we each can relate. The motion of life seems so regimented in the morning. We kiss the sunrise then the bustle begins. Beautiful, well developed images.
