Just emotionalizing. Actually, I wrote this a long time ago, but touched it up and added the article thought to it.
Boo Hoo
Sadness has touched my heart today My pulse is slow and tired I see myself as a failure No matter how hard I’ve tried.
I’ve given my life to hard work, Doing all that I must do Working on the farm, attending school, Going to college for an education, too.
I paid my own way through school Unlike what most young people do today I worked two jobs every chance I got To earn tuition with my pay.
I taught school for many years Never more dedicated in any goal I set Teaching little children to read and write Was the most important undertaking I’ve yet met.
I wrote ten books, have published six And continue to write on more It’s a pastime that fills my time A worthy hobby I adore.
But today, I’m tired and sitting at home Pounding out poems, stories, and books Wanting to please someone with my work Wanting them to open my books and look.
I check my reviews on AuthorsDen Like an unfed dog looking for food Every word, every phrase, the simplest statement Is medicine to cure my sad old mood.
So, why am I so sad today? Is there a reason for this down trod bent? Perhaps my mindset is all wrong I should respond with thanks for all God has sent.
Thus, I thank God for my AuthorsDen friends Who have read my poetry, writings and news Posting lovely words of inspiring praise In your thoughtful and wonderful reviews.
But yesterday only few folks read my article And I was so thoroughly depressed Because I was trying to be helpful And I really did my best
You wrote this quite a while ago! You've accomplished a lot in your life. Things worked for and earned mean much more, than things given randomly. Being sucessful in ones goals is a feat in its self and it takes preservierance to keep moving forward. You have a special talent and gift , so keep sharing and writing....Love,,,M --- PS, you get many more reviews than I ( SMILE!!!!)
OH JEANETTE...I DON'T THINK THAT THERE IS A POET ALIVE WHO CANNOT OR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RELATE TO THIS SO CANDID EXPRESSION OF THOSE 'EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE BLUE MOODS' THAT WE GO THROUGH... THANK GOD FOR HIS PRESENCE THAT NEVER ALLOWS US TO WALLOW THERE TOO LONG. I SEE THAT THIS WAS WRITTEN AS WHILE AGO...SO GLAD YOU ARE STILL 'PRESSING ON' THE UPWARD WAY. BLESSINGS AND LOVE,

Please wipe away your tears and know that your talent and words are very well respected here by all who read them. If all ball players hit a home run each time at bat, there would be no World Series. Know that there are those of out here who feel the same way every now and then, but, pick up that pen and write again.....
My very best to you this day
Chris
I can totally relate and reading over your reviews here, I can totally understand their angles and explanations. I was very touched by John Turners comment, as I sit here watching my husband watch TV alone...I just want to leave here and go sit and watch the football game with him...but, there is something deep down inside that keeps me sitting here, night after night, day after day, wanting to read and be inspired, write and be remembered...I love your postings and I don't have an excuse, I just have one helluva plate to fill in my own realm and always say, tomorrow is another day... I have a rule of thumb that I am not allowed to post a new poem until I've at least reviewed all those that have stopped by the last one...
"Boo Hoo" has alot of underlying emotions that everyone of us here can relate to.
Good Job!...and never, ever stop trying to get where it is your being led!
Love and Peace~

Such a heartfelt write my friend...you are an inspiration to many, teachers, writers, poets, artists, and those who are still struggling to find their place. Write on and fill the pages, your talent cannot be measured, your friendship the same...a blessing to many my friend, enjoyed this heartfelt write. I should be the one to say thank you, for you are always faithful to my blogs, and poems...I hope to only be able to do the same. Enjoyed!
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Jeanette, a heart felt writing, I know why you want others to read your works...because you've worked hard to write them and you want to hear someone just say, "Hey, this is great!" All of us writers want someone to read...just an article, because we've taken such pride in writing it for the reader. Here of late, I've had a hard time reading & writing because my computer has been giving me a fit and I've been using my laptop. Your writings are certainly worthy of reading & I like everyone of them. I consider my writing one of the most important factors in my life and I know sometimes what I write might only appeal to a few but I keep plugging and hoping I'll improve. Keep plugging Jeannette, I'll be there to read you when I'm on AD. God Bless.
You do bring out very valid points, but on the other hand there is only a finite amount of time to devote to reading and writing. I know everyone, myself included do his or her best. Nicely written and expressed....
Yes, thank God. Sometimes it's hard to pen a note [for a variety of reasons] on all I read, but read I do. Perhaps, a re-post is in order, with a different title?????

Wonderful writing sweet lady, have a wonderful day ...Hugsss
I hear you, LOUD AND CLEAR. We try to write for ourselves, but deep down, are we really? Are we writing for the joy of writing, or to gain notoriety (spelling) with others? Are we writing because we have to, or are we writing for others? I'm having to battle this, everyday: I write, because I have to, good, bad or indifferent, they're MY words. If people don't want to read, their loss! LOL
It seems not very many at all read short stories and articles here in AD. I used to post more of them myself, but hardly anyone reads them. A definite poetry bias here in AD, and I think we all wish we could sell a ton of books, too!
Jeanette, you have many lovely thoughts running around in your head. I'm sure this poem is about you and your accomplishments. What a wonderful life you have had. I got my statement from my first book the other day and in 6 months no one bought my very lovely story about the black boy coming up during the depression. Makes me want to give them away. I do read all your poems though I must admit I don't alway send a review. Our lives are too full. As the saying goes we need to stop and smell the roses. My dear wife died four months ago after being married 58 years. Now, I think back at so many hours my wife spent alone watching TV as I sat up stairs writing. Oh, how I wish now I could turn back the clock and sit with her. I look at her photo and try to apologize.
I also was a builder of houses and what you said about building matrial was right on. Hoorah!!
Boy, do I know this for true! Just keep writing and know that as long as you write, you'll have me. I love you, and I love how you write; you are quickly becoming one of my favorites here! I'll try to do the same; not to have so many pity parties, but I'd rather have people read my stories....*grins*
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D
Jeanette, It happens to all of us. Sometimes you believe your articles, poems, stories, are really awesome and hardly anyone comments. It could just be that people didn't agree, or find it interesting enough to them to comment. Rather than say something blah, or negative, they simply say nothing. Don't let it get you down, it happens to all of us.
I love your stuff, and I am going to go read your article. I sometimes do not have time to read the 60-70 postings of the people that I am tracking..I have a very demanding day and when evening comes along, I want to write and it takes a while to go through everyone's postings. Sometimes I just say, I must quickly read and not comment tonight, but I always read everyone's postings.
So there you have my explanation..sorry it took so long..But I love you, and your writing, so cheer up and don't be blue.
Peace, Love, and Light,

Get off the pity-potty and write another article . . . Don't let one so-cally "failure" to get you down . . . Ah, but you know that already, huh? The thing is people are weary of gloom and doom scenarios, we're fed a constant dose of it in the media, and sometimes we just cannot absorb more and go elsewhere . . .
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
