Dear Father in Heaven,

 

You have said in your Word that the “The thief (Satan) cometh to rob, kill and destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that they may have life and have it more abundantly.” Lord, the thief has come to destroy the sanctity of marriage, individual holiness, and virtue by the deceptive allurement of sexual freedom. As with Eve, it is this same deception of desired allurement that has entrapped many of our citizens into the eventual pit of despair, depression, and helplessness.   It is this dark lie that consumes our society and air waves, as our people become more alienated from the light of your truth and hope.

 

Father, I pray that you would consider and show mercy to those who have embraced these lies and now are captive by the darkness sexual deviancy. I pray in your mercy that you would open their eyes to the light of your truth and to Calvary’s cross where they would find freedom. My heart aches for the many lonely hearts that are truly looking for love and acceptance. Many are searching for acceptance and love through sexuality, coupled with the secular progressive promises of freedom, which have only resulted in  a trap to the unsuspecting victims as they sink within the mire of their sin – helpless and alone. According to your Word, sex within marriage joins the souls of two into one through holy matrimony. However, many within our nation are joining their soul with each and every man and women  they lay themselves down for in their sexual lust. Furthermore, they are exposing themselves to decease and unwanted pregnancy. The “Sex in the City” mindset has exacted a great price on our society.

 

Lord, you so loved this world that you “Gave” your precious Son Jesus for the blood sacrifice for our all our sins. Your precious Son paid in full, the penalty of sin for All humanity, for those willing to embrace that truth. However, we must REPENT of our wickedness – to change course from the destructive path we are on, and to walk in the light of your Word. You cannot have salvation, without repentance.  Many of those who profess their faith in you are living on the wide-path of their own deception, leading to destruction, with no transformation in their lives. Sadly, many who claim to know you Lord are not known by you. 

 

Therefore, it is my prayer that you would open the eyes of those caught up in sexual sin so they may view its depravity as through your eyes. Jesus, please place within their heart a Spirit of Repentance that will lead to your Salvation.   Father, point them to the cross where they will find healing and true forgiveness by the cleansing blood of your Son Jesus. Lord, please place a new heart within them that is committed to serving you – irrespective of public opinion or peer pressure. Transform them from the inside out by washing them in the truth of your Word. Show them the path to your cross!
