Trixie, your repetition of the words "didn't mean a thing" are so poignant here - like the stunned mind and heart that are trying to come to terms with the appalling hurt of having gotten things so one-sided, perhaps. Unreciprocated love is the hardest thing to come to terms with, like the bottom falling out of the world... until around the next corner comes new hope in a fresh face...!!!
