This certain morning I decided to go for breakfast before my walk. I happen to encounter a sad looking man at one of the tables and knew he'd welcome company
At a table in a diner as I sit alone waiting for the waitress to take my order
The hustle and bustle all around, plates, cutlery and coffee cups hitting the table I could hardly hear any other sound
People talking and giving their orders, the waitress's with pad in hand are all busy just running around
As I sat all alone I suddenly got the urge to write some poems, listening to the chatter gave me lots to write about what matters
I look around and see lots of people laughing, smiling and holding hands, as they devour their bacon, eggs and ham
Anxiously raising their forks into their mouths enjoying every morsel, makes me realize how great it is to be mortal
Eyeing someone in the corner, the sad eyes looking back to see if anyone noticed him, I got up and walked over to that lonely man in the corner, I extended my hand and gave a smile made my morning so worthwhile
So extend a hand and give a smile, make anothers' life worthwhile

How true that we should be more friendly. But this world is built on suspicion. Victor
Very well done cousin, although you tell me you prefer story to poetry this is new and fresh and offers a valuable lesson to the reader. As George said not to many people these days are willing to make such a move but maybe it is time we all did. Thank you for sharing your words and thoughts.
