Sometimes people initiate relationships for unethical reasons.
Are you a cunning carer, selective for whom you care? Always around for the good times, But in bad times never there? Do you seek out the person who's lonely With plenty of money to share, And promise to love her only Then depart when the cupboard is bare?
Do you promise the moon to the quarries You've selected with cunning and flair, But deliver just heart-ache and worries As the promises fade into air? I have met many such carers, Selective for whom they care: Always around for the good times, In the bad times never there!

First, how absolutely lovely to see you posting, my dear Patrick!
Now, then, here you come, rolling out of "seclusion" with a grand and needed-to-be-said finger pointer, worthy of your clever tongue (or pen), indeed! Again and again, I have found you to be a kindred spirit. Your commentary on all things human, even its underbelly, never fails to move me.
I share your fist-shaking here... I celebrate your always bold willingness to spare none who would wish to poison others'. You strike a blow... and I tip my hat to your wonderful rhyme and meter.

Glad to clarify that indeed I am not such a one as the subject of your poem Patrick but I have been victim of such folk they love 'ya' when all is rosy but as soon as the hard times come round they scatter off to greener pastures.Your idea to use such folk as poem is great I never would have thought of it and you strug all the words and lines beautifully together it is a witty and wise poem,I enjoyed it very much. Lastly I would like to add that I for one and very happy that the hard and rough times do come my way as it really is the only way to sort out who really is friend and who really is not and that is gift to us all as in end only the true gems of life are left with us.
