(a re-write, the last version, "She Don't Shine For You", it wasn't well-wishing, this one's more positive..)

the thing that you do

when you do what you do,

the smoke stays in your eyes

long after the rocks fly

and I could say to you

all the things people say

to their loved ones made blue,

from their chemical play…

but you like the clouds fine,

makes the sun smile real bright

while you float in the sky,

safe from hearing me whine,

well, that thing that you do

when you do what you do

hurts the ones that you love

but it mostly hurts you

and the money you spend

and the sex on the table,

with me, or with her

keeps me right here,

enabling,

like a fool,

but we like the clouds fine

makes the sun smile real bright

while we float in the sky

safe from hearing the cries,

when you finally come down,

long after I've walked

and your memory’s grey

from the thief that you stalk

know that I only loved

all the sweet in your eyes,

use this to rise above

steel cold chemical lines,

and if you stay around,

and your memory sharpens,

listen close to the sound

of a life that still harkens

for You

the thing that you use

when you use, isn’t you,

the smoke’s part of a lie

of the kind you can use

only for a short while,

a small, chemical mile,

so please find your way down

Life listens for the sound

of You…

The rush of chemical fantasy and relief may seem to be an improvment but is in reality just a temporary escape of the life we cannot hide from.

I think I "know" that of which you write here... ...but I am not sure. Seems like a lot of pain. Thus powerful. I send you love and peace and my best wishes,

Regis
