My brother looks upon me-

Within the halls of Rap City
Entertainers seek to please

They shout,
Why still the nigga? I wonder,
Lookin’ to my bones for chains.
In the heat of the street
Between walls of public schools
The kids are sooo cool.
High five my nigga!
Why do you feel the nigga? I wonder,
I look for their chains.
In every corner,
Lost lessons.
Festering disrespect for “X”
For Dale,
For Rosa and A.C.
A slap in the face from
Before the 1960’s.
Still here,
The lingering nigger.
Lookin around for chains.
