You seem to have written the answer to Rebecca's poem.

I learned very early in life to be open two strangers and give them an opportunity to prove themselves as my friend or my lover. Although, I've heard many young woman tell me that I was not of her goal station, Love came my way anyway in spurts and halts until an unlikely source became part of me that will never leave.

There are many words and thoughts in this piece that hold true. For some of us, it's not the fear of love, but the understanding that perhaps we don't find love, love finds us... perhaps even with doors and walls. There is something to be said for caution, but even more to be said for allowing love to reach one, even beyond the idea of a partner. Love has a way of expressing itself in many ways. Thank you for posting.

So many don't allow love to be the one to dump fear.

Building walls, imaginary walls, doors, locked.

Incredible fruit of wisdom. To believe in someone's potential even if they may not feel like it is many times the strength others need to believe enough in their selves to make that happen and then profound transformative power happens.. You raise an important point and beautifully expressed and heart-felt. Yes, many people are afraid to open themselves up (again) having once gone through a bad experience regarding love. It takes courage and fortitude (and love) to try again. Nicely done.
