In the middle of your life

I lost you for a while

missing you and your smile

pain is always present

in the middle of our joy

when we have treated life

like a foolish child's toy

at the end of my life

I found myself at last

most of the time now

I don't live in the past

but you're part of it

that I will never let go

and I want you to know 

my heart never let you go

remembering baby hands

and strong hands of a man

please know I only needed love

appreciation for who I am

at the middle and the end

I finally found you again

I know we both sinned

in the middle of life

the ocean waves go wild

and sometimes we feel

like a motherless child

but you'll never be an orphan
