Life Is Subtle, So Are The Years

If I slept beneath the stars tonight
Would the world see me in a different light
I feel so lonely, and yet my thoughts comfort me
Like the grains of sand, the open ocean whispers unto me

Lost in the shadows, brittle and dark
Ebbs the yearning within my heart
What light shimmers in the night
Beneath the sea of celestial light

Upon my hands the faded rhyme
Lost is my breath bound by time
Confounded are my thoughts and illusions
Lost among the shadows of confusion

To ebb my tears with innocent eyes
Beside the veil, of dandelions
Floral cups that cover my hands
Lost within this silhouette of a man

Was there beauty ebbed in part
Thou hath, felt thy heathen heart
Mystic moonlit rivers run
Be still my heart beneath the urban hum

Life is subtle, so are the years
Loneliness weeps within my tears
