Mendy,
You have expressed so beautifully the thoughts we all have, here in our "upper youth."
...the smooth
Lovely face
Unlined
But undefined.
Yes, it is living and loving that etches those lines into our faces. Well done!
I know we've probably, at one time or other, wished we could go back to our youth and know what we know now. I have but somehow know that I would never really want to. Visit the good moments maybe but never to relive the painful ones. I hope we can all age with grace. Each line or wrikle is a notch of wisdom to be handed down through our legacy. Bless You in Your Wisdom.
Beautiful work and honest reflections, yes I think we do all long a little for the youth we often think we squandered away being young. I look back as i enter my fifties and think dam, wish I was still 40, 30 or even 20 but I know that is not practical only wishful thinking so then I take stock at what I do have and when I look around I see the beauty in the women who are my age both inside and out and think...heck maybe it isn't all that bad. Anyway I digress and after reading your profile if you are planning to publish this one is very publishable. Look forward to reading more of you Mendy
Nice view of thought, one reflecting back on the grasp of youth and the wish for beauty, it is wisdom and knowledge that not by choice where we find ourselves as we walk into the journey of growing old.....gracefully...
Mary Angela Nangini's poems celebrate the richness of life and love. From the city to cottage-country and the roads in between, Nangini explores the changing seasons of her varied region. (This book will soon be reprinted in hard cover.)
